History and Folklore Myseum in Miyajima recommended!

Not many people go there and the lady at the reception window might not give you an enthusiastic welcome (the job is entrusted to the senior citizens' activity center and she simply looks like a local resident who does the job in her spare time ... and chatting with neighbors when no visitors come).

Visiting the busiest part of Miyajima only will be too sad. Many of you began to try the cable ride or the Daishoin Buddhist temple. Both are so fun but you might not have enough time or might not want stone stairs. In that case, here's one route recommended after your visit to the Itsukushima Jinja Shonto shrine:
Exit the shrine and then you face the temple, Daiganji;
Tour Daiganji and proceed toward right;
Pass a few stores and restaurants and see the sea on your right;
Turn left at the corner where a restaurant stands;
Walk straight and then on the left you see part of the Museum;
Walk to the end of the ally and turn left and soon you will find the entrance to the museum;
Do not forget to take off your shoes when you step onto the living area of the former residence;
A piece of advice - when you see a wooden board, this is where your shoes are supposed to be already off;
Tour the museum and learnmore about   Miyajima and the shrine, English descriptions available;
This also gives you a great chance to see a lovely Japanese house with a garden because the museum is a renovated merchant's house;
Finish the museum and come back to the exit area of the shrine;
Do whatever you can do as your time permits.
Enjoy!
The garden, part of the house, and the pagoda in the backdrop. Find this spot!
