Shinto shrine in town

This shrine, Shirakami-sha, is on the corner of Peace Boulevard and another major street which has a streetcar railway.

People in business suit routinely come and are purified in a ritual done in a moment by a Shinto priest; and then leave. It looks totally like part of daily life.

To shed your unwanted bad influences that you might have accumulated in life
and increase your life force, you circle around this ring made of straw.

It was an annual ritual frequently seen at Shinto shrines.
